The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is the all-American supercar that’s taken the world by storm. With jaw-dropping power and advanced materials throughout, it’s already made a mark on Mustang history. Here’s what you need to know about the most powerful production Mustang yet.

Discover the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD: Performance Unleashed

Unbridled Power

The 2025 Mustang GTD delivers a staggering 815 horsepower, enough to propel it to a maximum track speed of 202 mph. The secret? A Predator-based 5.2L supercharged V8 beast of an engine that has been engineered by the Ford Performance team for maximum power and a redline of 7,650 RPM. The 8-speed rear transaxle features a dual clutch and is connected to the motor by a carbon fiber driveshaft.

This Pony Does Push-Ups

The 2025 Mustang GTD offers a unique dual ride height feature that makes it perfectly adapted to both street driving and the track. For the first time in the class, drivers can use the hydraulic control system and dedicated Track Mode driving mode to lower the vehicle’s ride height by almost 40mm, helping the Mustang GTD hug the track and maximize its aerodynamic performance at competition height.

Advanced Materials

Ford pulled out all the stops when it came to shaving weight from the 2025 Mustang GTD. Almost every body panel is designed and manufactured using carbon fiber to maximize strength and minimize weight. That includes the advanced multi-purpose vented front fenders that reduce lift and drag while also cooling the forged carbon ceramic brakes, which feature six-piston Brembo calipers for maximum stopping power. Available forged magnesium wheels reduce weight even further.

The integrated spoiler is mounted to the C-pillar and is also made of carbon fiber to help minimize weight while helping maintain front-wheel traction. The exhaust system is forged from titanium for weight savings and style. Even the rotary gearshift dial, available 3D-printed paddle shifters, and serial plate are made from titanium that’s been cleverly recycled from F-22 Raptor fighter jets that have been decommissioned.

Supercar Agility

With the incredible precision and advanced performance of a Multimatic Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve suspension and adaptive dampers, the 2025 Mustang adapts to road dynamics and imperfections easily while also maximizing handling. Ford also slung the engine low in the frame for a low center of gravity and included the first dry sump oil system in production Mustang history to help keep the engine bathed in oil even during high-G cornering.

The Mustang GTD’s mighty motor and incredible agility help secure its place in automotive history. The Mustang GTD claimed a historic sub-7-minute time on the grueling Nürburgring circuit, completing the grueling 12.9-mile circuit in just 6 minutes and 52.072 seconds and launching it into the stratosphere of supercars.

The 2025 Mustang GTD may be available by application only, but there’s plenty of power in the herd. Test drive a 2025 Mustang today at Rochester Ford in Rochester, MN, and discover the thrill of American muscle.
