2022 Ford F-150 Lightning
The first-ever, all-new, all-electric Ford F-150 is here. America's best-selling pickup truck just got an electric makeover with the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. This eco-friendly and capable vehicle is the ideal pickup truck for drivers from all walks of life.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
For 2022, the Ford F-150 Lighting is available in four trim levels: Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum. The base Pro trim level is the most affordable and features a Mega Power Frunk with 14.1 cubic feet of storage space. This "frunk" is a trunk in the vehicle's front where the gas engine typically is on a nonelectric model.
The XLT introduces a Gray Ion Satin Metallic grille, signature front lighting, extended running boards, and enhanced zone lighting. Select the Lariat trim level if you're interested in a power tailgate, a Geometric Gray-Ion satin grille, and 20-inch Dark Carbonized Gray wheels. The Platinum trim level pulls out all of the stops with a twin-panel moonroof, a Vador Black with Tinted Chrome grille, and a 22-inch bright machined aluminum grille.
Engine (Power)
The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is available with two different all-electric powertrain options. The first is two three-phase fixed-magnet AC electric motors that generate 426 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. This setup allows for 230 miles of range.
If you're interested in greater power and range, upgrade to the two three-phase fixed-magnet AC electric motors that produce 563 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque while allowing for a range of 300 miles.
Not only can these electric motors power the Ford F-150 Lightning, but they can also power your home when you equip the pickup truck with available Ford Intelligent Backup Power. This Ford pickup truck can act as a backup power source for your home during a power outage when enabled by the 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro.
Performance
When you think of an all-electric vehicle, you probably don't think of a heavy-duty powerhouse, but the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is here to change that mindset. When selecting the extended-range battery and the Max Trailer Tow Package, this 2022 Ford pickup truck can tow 10,000 pounds. If you opt for the standard-range battery and the tow package, the vehicle can still tow an impressive 7,700 pounds. Additionally, the Ford F-150 Lightning offers all-wheel drive across the board.
Interior
The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning base trim level offers vinyl seating and a 12-inch touch screen on the dashboard. This touch screen works alongside SYNC 4, which provides drivers with attractive infotainment features. In-dash navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay all come standard.
Meanwhile, the XLT trim adds cloth seating and an interior work surface, while the Lariat trim has leather-trimmed, heated, and ventilated seating. The top-of-the-line trim levels add Nirvana leather seating, Ebony Black–painted pockets, multicontour front seats with Active Motion, a Bang & Olufsen Unleashed Sound System, and heated and ventilated seats.
Safety Features
For 2022, the Ford F-150 Lightning comes standard with attractive driver-assist safety technologies like lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist and automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Ford's new BlueCruise semiautonomous driving mode is also available.
