Featuring impressive towing capability, a best-in-class payload rating, multiple engine choices, a comfortable interior, and plenty of modern technology, this full-size truck is difficult to beat. In addition, the Raptor trim offers impressive off-road prowess. Here’s a short overview of the available F-150 trim levels to help you decide which model would suit you best.
XL
If you’re looking for a no-nonsense workhorse, opt for the base trim. It comes with a 3.3-liter Ti-VCT V-6 engine that’s mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and produces a respectable 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. Standard equipment includes 17-inch steel wheels, halogen headlights, daytime running lights, two front tow hooks, cloth upholstery, air conditioning, four speakers, pre-collision assist with emergency braking, and a rearview camera.
XLT
The XLT features the same powertrain as the XL but adds a few luxuries, such as 17-inch aluminum wheels, fog lights, a power tailgate, floor mats, and cruise control. The addition of the Sync 3 infotainment system is one of the most notable attractions of this trim. The system is easy to use and offers standard features like a Wi-Fi hot spot, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth, and an 8-inch display.
Lariat
With the Lariat trim comes a long list of added luxury items, as well as a more powerful engine. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and generates 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. On the outside, the Lariat trim receives upgrades like 18-inch aluminum wheels, power-adjustable and heated mirrors with memory and turn-signal indicators, and a driver-side auto-dimming rearview mirror. Interior additions include dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather upholstery, and a lane-keeping system.
King Ranch
The King Ranch introduces yet another engine upgrade, namely a robust 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V-8 engine, which is also mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and kicks out 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. This trim adds exterior features like LED fog lamps, LED box lighting, LED headlights and taillights, power-folding mirrors, and a two-tone paint treatment, while the cabin features a unique King Ranch trim and heated rear seats.
Platinum
The Platinum trim comes with the same powertrain as the King Ranch but offers a few added features like 20-inch aluminum wheels, power-deployable running boards, and multi-contour leather seats.
Limited
With the Limited trim comes a powerhouse of an engine. The 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost engine matches with a 10-speed automatic transmission and produces an incredible 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. In addition, this trim also adds nice-to-haves like 22-inch aluminum wheels, a twin-panel moonroof, a 360-degree camera, and a blind spot monitor with reverse trailer coverage.
Raptor
If you’re into off-roading, the Raptor trim will not disappoint. This trim is equipped with impressive off-road features, such as class-exclusive Fox live valve monotube shocks, a torque-on-demand transfer case, hood air extractors, two rear tow hooks, heavy-duty skid plates, an electronic-locking rear differential, and all-terrain KO2 tires. The standard terrain management system offers superior functionality through seven selectable modes, while the trail control system provides cruise control on off-road terrains. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo HO EcoBoost engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that produces a best-in-class 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.
