Trim Levels (Exterior)

For the 2019 model year, the Edge offers four trim levels: SE SEL, Titanium, and ST. With the SE, you get the lowest starting MSRP and standard features such as a push-button start and a rearview camera. On the SEL trim, you'll also get dual-zone automatic climate control for individualized temperatures and the reverse sensing system to help avoid rear fender-benders. The Titanium is the luxury trim and offers quality features like a 12-speaker audio system by Sony. The ST gives you a more powerful engine and assorted performance upgrades.

Engine (Power)

The engine under the hood of most 2019 Ford Edge models takes up 2.0 liters and runs on four cylinders. The EcoBoost design gives it a turbocharger and up to 245 horsepower with 275 pound-feet of torque. If you want something tougher, the ST model comes standard with a small but potent 2.7-liter V-6 engine that delivers 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. That's 20 more horses and 30 more pound-feet than the Sport trim's engine from last year. The ST also gives you an advanced electronic gear shifter for the eight-gear automatic transmission.

Performance

Front-wheel drive is standard on the 2019 Edge, but you can upgrade any model to all-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive system constantly monitors wheel traction and can reroute torque away from slipping tires. For the best performance around, look at the ST trim. All-wheel drive comes standard on this trim along with a potent engine. Plus, you can count on a standard towing package rated to 3,500 pounds, a sport-tuned suspension, and bigger wheels.

Interior

The cargo area of the 2019 Ford Edge gives you a sizable 39.2 cubic feet in the back, and you can fold down the rear seats to get up to 73.4 cubic feet for cargo. Passengers in both rows also get plenty of seating space thanks to only offering two rows in the midsize crossover class. For instance, the back rows get a full 40.6 inches of legroom. You can also get some quality interior features like a 4.2-inch digital display for the gauge cluster, an infotainment system with the advanced SYNC 3, and a 10-way adjustable driver's seat.

Safety Features

The 2019 Edge comes with all the safety features you'd expect from a family vehicle. Standard equipment includes eight air bags, the SOS Post-Crash Alert System, and a rearview camera. Certain trims also come with driver assistance features such as the lane keeping system. This advanced technology uses cameras to look for lines and other lane markers and can warn the driver if they are about to cross accidentally.
