Plus, if you want even more power, you can equip the Explorer with an available 3.0-liter V-6 capable of producing 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. With the Traverse, your only option is the less powerful 3.6-liter V-6.




Safety Features

When it comes to safety features, both the Explorer and the Traverse give you the basics, such as automatic emergency braking and rearview cameras. However, the Explorer also comes standard with advanced features like rear parking sensors, a driver attention monitor, and a blind-spot information system. While advanced features are available in the Traverse lineup, you have to pay extra for an upper trim level if you want to take advantage of them.
