Did someone say pizza? Oh, I guess it was us. That’s because Rochester is home to some fantastic pizzerias that are cooking up delicious pizza by the pie or the slice all across town, and we’ve got the inside tips to where you can find the best.

Pasquale’s Neighborhood Pizzeria

The owner is proud to serve the kind of food he grew up with–authentic New York-style pizza and traditional Italian food–and he loves sharing his culture with the town. Find this pizzeria at 130 5th Street SW on the corner of 1st Ave & 5th Street, next to the People’s Food Co-op. Open Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. They are closed Monday.

Don’t forget about their express location just down the way at 1219 2nd St SW (across the street from St. Mary’s hospital) where you can choose grab pre-made and frozen pizzas, soups, and meals to take home and make later. They are open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7

Pi Wood-Fired Pizza

This community staple has a good variety of pizza and salads. It’s always fast with friendly service and is located at 3932 Marketplace Dr. NW and open 7 days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Mr. Pizza

Mr. Pizza has been serving pizza in Minnesota for 57 years. A family-owned establishment, Mr. Pizza specializes in delicious pizza as well as fabulous customer service. With quality ingredients and several choices in toppings, you can’t go wrong with this place.

There are locations in both the north and south parts of town. Mr. Pizza North can be found at 4040 28th St. NW from Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 7 p.m. Mr. Pizza South is at 1729 South Broadway and open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Twisted Barrel Wood Fired Pizza

This unique pizza place can’t be found at just one location because this pizzeria is on wheels. When plans for a restaurant fell through, the owners of Twisted Barrel were not deterred and instead got themselves a trailer and hit the road. They can be found or requested to serve at various events around town and neighboring areas.

They make their pizzas in wood fire ovens ranging from 850 to 1000 degrees, which makes for a light, crisp crust that is flavorful and delicious. The sauce is light and their ingredients are fresh, making for one fantastic pizza pie. Watch them cook your pizza fast, right there in front of you, as you are out in the open with the wood-burning stove. Visit their website for details on when and where you can find them.
