The 2020 Ford Escape features an attractive, modern interior, with equally modern tech features. It is also an astounding value, with a starting MSRP of just $24,885.

Performance

The Escape comes with your choice of three different engines, available on different trim levels. The S and SE trim levels feature a 1.5 L turbocharged engine good for 181 horsepower and 190 foot-pounds of torque. SE Sport and Titanium models get an upgrade with a 2.5 Liter hybridized engine that gets you 200 horsepower. At the top of the ladder is the 250 horsepower turbocharged 2.0 L engine, available on Titanium and SEL models.

Even the smallest engine gives you plenty of power, getting you from 0-60 miles per hour in just 7.7 seconds – among the fastest in its class. It also allows you to two up to 2,000 pounds. It comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission, so you’ve got plenty of control over that powerful engine. There is also an all-wheel-drive option if you plan on driving on slippery or uneven surfaces like snow or sand. The steering is firm and well-calibrated, and the ride is smooth and comfortable.

Value

The Escape comes with a very tempting low price, but the value doesn’t stop there. The most fuel-efficient versions of the Escape get an astounding 44 miles per gallon city and 37 mpg highway, not just saving you money but also saving the environment. The limited warranty is good for 3 years or 36,000 miles, and the powertrain is covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles.

Spacious, Comfortable Interior

The interior is large and sunny thanks to its large rear windows. The rear seat has plenty of legroom (best in class in fact), and can also move forwards and backward. Behind that, there are 34 cubic feet of space, so there’s plenty of room to pack for day trips. The rear seats can also be folded down to give you even more space. You may want to consider getting the available panoramic sunroof, giving you breathtaking views of the sky above.

The Latest Tech Features

The Escape gives you the option of getting the Sync 3 system, which allows you to access a range of features from the touchscreen. These include navigation, Apple Carplay, and Android Auto. It also has voice recognition, so there’s no need to take your hands off the wheel. Climate control can also be accessed through the menus.

If you like having access to your car even when you’re away from it, you may want to upgrade to the FordPass Connect app for your phone. This not only gives you standard features, like remote locking, unlocking, and car starting, but also allows you to locate your vehicle, schedule a start time, or check vital stats like fuel levels. Some models also have access to a 4G LTE wifi hotspot, which allows up to 10 devices to connect from up to 50 feet away.
